The ₹40,000 Question: Do You Need a Console to Be a Serious Gamer?
Mobile Gaming

THE ₹40,000 QUESTION
We got asked a version of this question at almost every event we've shown up to this year: "So is this for people who can't afford a real console?" It's a fair question, and it's the wrong one. It assumes seriousness has a price tag, and that the only way in is spending forty thousand rupees or more on a rig.
We don't think that's true, and we've built Koyozo to prove it.
THE ASSUMPTION WE ARE PUSHING BACK ON
A console or gaming PC buys you power, sure. It doesn't buy you skill, dedication, or the hours someone puts into getting better. Plenty of players we've met at events have put more real time and thought into their mobile play than someone who bought a rig and plays twice a month. Seriousness was never about the hardware budget. It's about the respect the player brings to the game and the respect the game gives back.
The industry built its idea of "real gaming" around desks, wires, and expensive setups because that's what was available first. It became the default, and defaults are hard to question until someone shows an alternative that actually works.
WHAT "SERIOUS" SHOULD MEAN INSTEAD
We use the word deliberately, and differently from how the industry usually uses it. Not hardcore. Not pro. Just: this person cares about their play, invests real time in it, and deserves controls and community that match that investment, regardless of whether they're doing it on a five-thousand-dollar setup or a phone in their pocket.
That's the shift we're trying to make happen. Mobile gaming isn't the compromise version of real gaming. Done right, it's just gaming, with more flexibility about when and where.
UNTETHERED, NOT UNDERPOWERED
Koyozo exists because the gap was never really about money. It was about the experience layer: bad touch controls, fragmented software, and a culture that dismissed anyone playing from a phone. Fix that layer, and the console price tag stops being the entry requirement for taking your gaming seriously.
You don't need forty thousand rupees to be a serious gamer. You need a phone, a real controller, and a community that recognizes what you bring to the game. That's what Planet Koyozo is for.
